BACALHOA BUDDA EDEN 2 ,THE GARDEN OF MODERN AND CONTMOPARY SCULPTURES, JUNE 2018

The garden of Modern and Contemporary Sculptures is a space to appreciate modern art. Several pieces by well-known artists such as Joana Vasconcelos, Alexander Calder, Fernando Botero, Tony Cragg, Lynn Chadwick and Allen Jones are exposed in the garden replaced from time to time.In the African Sculpture Art Garden there are more than 200 sculptures arranged among the more than 1000 palm trees. The Garden is dedicated to the Shona people of Zimbabwe, who for over a thousand years have carved stone by hand into works of art. They believe in ancestral spirits known as “Vadzimu” and their sculptures demonstrate the union of the two worlds: physical and spiritual. For these artists, each stone has a living spirit which influences what it will become. Their work, therefore, is to “free the spirit from the stone.”
This was our last stop in the  unexpected marvel Buddha Garden in Catholic Portugal. Our East Orthodox Bulgarian Friends Tania and 2 Vasko’s brought me there. We completed  the tour by foot, going everywhere and me making photos with my Olympus of the garden, lakes and sculptures in front of them. beside them or over them. Some of the photos are a little funny……Like souvenir I bought 1 bottle of the Blue Whine (Vino Azul), we drank for  the first time in the souvenir store.. Probably was good white wine (Vino Branco), colored blue some barriers. It was over full with tourists and all sculptures were surrounded. That’s why I copied some lean photos from the websites. All other photos are mine art of Photograph-amateur (since 1956, when I bough my first film Russian camera “ Smiana 3” like student 2nd Grade on Physics in Sofia State University in my country of origin Bulgaria).
My photos are following in order from Entrance to Exit.
