After seeing everything in and
around Quebec City by foot anbuses our small group (Margy, Radka and me)
decided to enroll in a ship cruise tour in St. Laurence River. We spend
the last day afternoon on the upper deck of the Cruise ship, enjoying
different views to both side of the river. The Capitan of the ship was
describing what we were seeing all the time. He was dressed in antic mariner
suit. We tried the special offer of the Capitan – Maple whisky, traditional
drink in Province of Quebec. In the end of the cruise I asked him to show me
the bottle and the name of Maple whisky in French. We bought it from duty-free
shop in Montreal on the way back to Seattle.
On the board of the ship I met Mr. Raymond
Tr. and we had a long conversation. I saw him before the cruise in some coffee
in Royal Place and took photo of his beautiful beard. I took 2 more photos of
him and his wife, and with me too, you may see here. He happened to be writer
of poems for all occasions. On his business card is printed: “Life is
poetic journey”. Like every citizen of Quebec, he is speaking English and
French. On another side of the card is printed in French the same taught: “La
vie est un voyage poetique”. I refreshed my French in Quebec, I studied in high
school (1951-55). In The University I passed to German, later I needed English
and Portuguese. After retirement for me: “The best way of living is traveling”.
Now we have with Margy more time for traveling. We completed our list with more
than 55 countries in all 6 continents: Europe, Africa, America Nord and America
South (and Costa Rica in the middle America), Asia and Australia (2007). Our
next journey in April 2017 is already arranged to Nord Africa – Egypt. We
will finally see the Pyramids and the Sphinx…May be next travel will be to
South Africa – the most civilized part of this exotic continent. We lived and
worked some years there in Mozambique and Angola in 80's and 90's.
On the ship we took a lot of photos around us, the best of
them are presented in this blog-album.
