After visiting Brazil in 2000 and Costa Rica in 2011, this time we decided to travel to another two developed South American countries– Chile and Argentina . They both are south from the Equator and is summer weather now. North parts of both of them are in subtropic. For the time limited to 2 weeks, we succeed to see their representative cities and places – Santiago, Valparaiso and Vina del Mar in Chile and Buenos Aires (B.A.), Tigre city and the Delta of Parana River (adjacent to B.A.) and the widest Fall in the world – Iguazu Falls in Argentina.
The object of this Post is Argentina - Buenos Aires, Tigre city and the de lta of Parana river.
Buenos Aires is more European, than american city, something like Madrid, Paris and Wien.The widest Avenue in the wold - Avenida 9 de Jullio, home of the famous Buenos Aires Obelicko monument. Plaza de Mayo, the main square wherе the city of Buenos Aires was succesfully founded in 1580 and grew outwords from. Avenida de Mayo, built to be "grand boulevard" of Buenos Aires, dotted with architectural beauties to be discoverd. Here is the famous Cafe Tortony, fouded in 1858 (the oldest cafe with delisious coffe), with its wonderful original interior stil intact. Buenos Aires Catedral, a stunning work of religious architecture, and the tomb of General San Martin - independence hero of Argentina. Тhe Pink House - Casa Rosada, the home of the present president and the government, home of the famouse balcony, from whеre President Peron & first lady Evita used the address the crouds.The reonowed Recoleta Cemetary, a city within a city, that boasts the thombs of Argentina's rich and famous, including the tomb of Evita Peron, one of Argentina’s most aclaimed icons.The scenic walkway of Caminito in La Boca, a block of brightly colored houses once home to the italian imigrant population (55% of Argentinians). Plaza Dorego, one of the city's oldest and most popular squares. San Telmo, thе atmospheric home of Tango, imigrant history, antiques, coblestone street and colonial architecture, centerd around Plaza Dorrego. and аround Defensa Street. The heart of Barrio of Retiro - Plaza San Martin. a leafy parc surrounded by beautiful architecture and filled with monuments, like San Martin, Faukland heroes etc. The lovely nightbоurnhood is Tigre city in the delta of Parana River.We cruised the Delta to admire thе old residenses making contrast with thе woodеn houses built over the piles, some yachts and rowing clubs. The delta gathers several little isles coverd with subtropical vegetation.
Last evening we enjoyed Dinner wth Tango Show at Esquina Carlos Cardel. Tango is the music of Buenos Aires with it's indisputed ikon Carlos Cardel, the creator of Argentinian Tango (1917-18 ).
