The main reason to visit Аrgentina was to see Iguazu Falls, which we missed to see in year 2000, when
visited Brazil. I have been 3 times at Niagara Fall (1966, 2006 & 2008) and
wanted to compare the two Great North and South Americans water Falls.
After 2 hours flight North of Buenos Aires we landed on the small Airport of city of Puerto Iguazu, Argentina. We had booked room in Panoramic Hotel Iguazu, with very nice view to the meeting of Parana and Iguazu Rivers. Between them is Paraguay. On the left side of Parana is Argentina, on the right site of Iguazu – Brazil. The hotel is on the hill, very closed to the Three Frontier Landmark: Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil. The hotel has Casino, Roman Bath and swimming pool. We enjoyed the warm water of the pool and tropical sun first afternoon. Next day we spend all day 10 hours visiting the widest waterfall in the World –Iguazu Falls - Cataratas de Iguazú on the Argentine side.

The waterfalls are located in the Iguazú National Park and are
one of the first protected areas in America and have been declared World
Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984. The waterfalls have 275 jumps of water that
fall from an average height of 70 meters. In this part of the sub tropical
forest, it is possible to see a wide variety of ferns, orchids, begonias, birds
and butterflies and different native species like big spiders Tarantulas,
different snakes, small raccoons (named here coatis), jaguars, pumas, caimans,
alligators and big catfish.
We went to the Estación
Central (Central Station), where we got the train that goes through Estación
Cataratas (Waterfalls Station) to Estación Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat
Station) to visit first The Devil's Throat (Garganta del Diablo). A 1200 meters
walk along runways took us to the great balcony of the most important jump of
the waterfalls, the Devil's Throat (Garganta del Diablo). Leaving Devils Throat
we walked back to the Garganta Station and traveled back by the train to the
Estación Cataratas (Waterfalls Station). From this point we took two circuits
one after other:
Upper Circuit: It is an 800 meters loop along a protected catwalk. The trail is an elevated footbridge above the ground to avoid bothering the fauna that inhabits the forest. From this circuit it is possible to see the waterfalls of the upper parts of Dos Hermanas, Bosetti, Barnabé Méndez, M'Bigua jumps.

possible to see the jumps of Dos Hermanas, Alvar Nuñez, San Martín, Bosetti, el
Peñón de la Bella Vista (from where we had a panoramic view of the Devil's
Throat and of the Inferior Iguazú River Canyon). It is a unique experience, you
feel yourself immersed in the beauty of the nature and you are able to feel the
strength and the energy of the waterfalls.
It was possible to take an optional excursion to visit Martín
Garcia Island and board the Big Draft boat to live the Big Adventure. We had
wonderful showers from 3 waterfalls of the Island and dried totally drafting
down the Iguazu River to Salto Arrechea. We disembarked the boat and took the
Macuco Trail trough the Jungle by open 4 wheel drive military truck back to the
Visitors Centre. It was really Great Pleasure to see so many waterfalls views
and to enjoy the waterfalls showers in this subtropical Paradise.
